Dear mnl2yyz There r quite a few couriers in the UAE but majority of them r expensive and moreover the PROMISES are only limited to UAE. Once ur courier reaches to Canada, everything changes. The whole transaction would cost u much more than u planned . I found most reliable and efficient is Empost . We used them recently for India and it was too good n got our things delivered in 1 week, promised us 1 month. They do have couriers for Canada but its around Aed. 1500 for 30 kg box.... Isn't it Expensive As all our seniors and other landed forum members have suggested... EVERYTHING IS AVAILABLE IN CANADA. Dont waste ur money carrying stuffs from UAE. Ikea to Walmart everything is there Let me know if u need anymore info or contact nos. of UAE courier co.

Some good news.... After a loooooong wait, we have today got a letter from the High Commission of Canada (mailed from Ottawa office, though letter has London address) asking for the RPRF and original passports for stamping. We will be couriering the same tomorrow to London.
So here's hoping...... Cheers Mahesh
Congrats Sir. So it's the party time when we meet during the weekend.. Best regards, Vikram

Qorax/Shahi/ KBGOLD/Petrajo/Shahzad and all friends..........
I NEED IMMEDIATE HELP..................
As I have stated earlier in may posts, My Common-Law partner and I have gone through all process and arrived now to Federal after we've obtained our CSQ from Damas last October 2010.
Our current status has changed to [IN PROCESS] few days ago - which is good news - but the Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi sent us one more form called Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union that requires to be completed and sent back ASAP.
My question:
At the bottom of the form, there is a feild called Commissioner of Oaths Name & Signature , I have tried to find more information about who could be the Commissioner of Oaths and sign it.
Is it has to be Attorny? or it could be any one who knows both of us? or just any one who could witness our sware that we were living together for the past 3.5 years?
Please URGENT HELP Friends....
Thanks & Regards Mef

Hi Qorax and other friends
Looking for your help and advise here. as you have migrated from UAE,you are more aware of rules. i also have got my PR, and had made my landing visit last yr. I had gone thru driving procedure in toronto they advised me to get letter from UAE to get exemption and appear straight for road test. as my driving license is from Sharjah, when i went to traffic department to inquire, they dont have letter to give in english language like what RTA in dubai issues. maybe you are aware of some guy,who also has faced such problem and whats solution to get out of this mess. maybe you can send me sample letter which RTA in dubai issues, which i can show in shj.

Dear Shatoor , Get the same Arabic letter and go for a legal translation in English. It will be accepted in Canada. I too have a Sharjah D/L n would do the same.

yes, i have asked them about the passing mark for IELTS, but can I just take the IELTS exam once they are sure when i am going to receive my requirement letter? i would want to take another Exam and have it expired again it's just valid for 1yr right? can you tell me when did you received your file #? and what did you do after you have receive it? pleaaaaaaaase help! i have totally have no idea what is the procedure. I think IELTS is valid for 2 years from now onwards. Send some update of some doc./job update/passport etc. to CHC London yourself (not by Consultant) and ask for case update. It may help.. i too did the same same.. all the best Appan

Dear Shatoor ,
Get the same Arabic letter and go for a legal translation in English. It will be accepted in Canada. I too have a Sharjah D/L n would do the same.
Great advice Deeaar. Shatoor do get the letter. I went with it and was able to get the G licence directly without any problems. My advice is to hire an instructor. It will cost you a bit (I paid $250), but the instructors know the tricks and the tips they will give you will really help. You will get the one chance at the "G" licence so better make it a good one. I got mine in Gulph, ON about 100 km out of Toronto. The effort was worth it because the highway there is only 70km/h one and its easy easy to pass there (according to my instructor). Good luck
