  @ edmonta,

Regarding the first issue I think you will have to give it a little more time and hopefully it will show the new desired address with the P.O. BOX... etc.

About the second one, mon ami, choosing the Visa office--is not in the hands (read control) of the PR applicants. As per rules, the Visa office is designated to PR applicants according to the recent (last one year) domicile of the applicant. e.g. An Indian/Pakistani living in UAE/Qatar/Oman etc above 1 year, will have to forward the documents to London Office and NOT New Delhi/Islamabad. Cheesy Similarly, a Japanese working in China for more than 1 year will have his/her documents sent to (mandatorily) to Beijing or Hong Kong office rather than Tokyo. Cool

Sometimes, a Visa office will cater to many countries like all resident Bangladeshis have their designated CHC-VO in Singapore and likewise all resident Nepalese will have to despatch their documents to New Delhi. Got it?

Moreover, travel documents are processed by many countries but PR applicants is different are many atimes centralised regionwise as explained hereabove.

For more info, browse this :http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp

I am now forwarding my photos to some hollywood producers (bollywood is passe' now)  Wink, meanwhile. Who knows a fruitful call from there would be sooner than the current one and entail less waiting ! Cool

I have got the 2nd AOR in September 2010.

It has been 5 months now. i am waiting for the medical.

My question is:

Can i withdraw the funds kept for the immigration?

At what stage do i require to show the funds again, as i think i need to wait for another 7 to 8 months based on the letter issued along with second AOR?

My status in ECAS is still "RBVO" since 5 months.

Hi, until your VISA is stamped, avoid withdrawing the CHC required funds.

Hi friends!

There is a positive News! Cheesy

Have just now viewed my online e-case status and thank God the error* {withdrawn} in it has been removed and hopefully the current status 'IN PROCESS' will be visible shortly. Currently am waiting for the Medicals (the stipulated 8 months will end on 25th Feb).

Am pleased to be thus relieved of the tension dangling on my head since July 2010.The only consolation that was pacifying, was the 2nd AOR after the withdrawn status. Extremely helpful was the advise of dear friends Captain, Biju Bhai, Suresh Bhai and others...... Cool

*courtesy my CONSultant who apparently delayed forwarding my file which perhaps crossed the 120 deadline. So guys, if you can, stay away from those Sharks! Angry

Cheers! Grin

Best Wishes,

Bestpal

Dear Bestpal ji,

Very Good news for the day !!!!!! after so long.....!!!!!

Pls. get ready for Medicals ....

Hi All,

Bit delayed but I will definitely congratulate all the members for making the get-together such a big success. Special thanks to Biju and Bestpal for taking all the efforts and arranging everything, so that the get-together is become a memorable one. This really gives us the oppertunity to know each other closely and beleive me I was just cursing me not to bring my family there. As ladies and kids are enjoying there...................., just gave a feeling like we are on a picnic with close friends and realatives. Its really a great time, which I will treasure for the life.

There sweets all around, like home made cakes, ladoos, Jalebis and goes on, which shows that few of our members have started enjoying there success. Till last meeting with captain I was little bit down, as the waiting period was somewhere around 42 months. But after that I got the medicals and then this time just before the meeting I got my PPR. I was really happy to go to the meeting to share my bit with everybody. I will request Biju to arrange another family get-together soon so that I will get my Passport back with Visa Stamped.

Again thanks to Captain for giving such a good forum for discussion and thanks to Biju to continuing the same with all the good spirit.

Cheers,
Ranjan

Dear Bestpalji & all,,

As per the link provided by you, following information comes out:

Where to send your application:
List of countries and corresponding Canadian visa offices
Applicants for Permanent Residence
You must apply in your country of residence, your country of nationality or the country where you have been legally admitted for at least one year.

It means it states that You must apply where you are residing or your country of natioanlity or where you have been legally admitted.I am staying in UAE from last three year but have selected New Delhi as my VO.

I disagree with what u have said-"About the second one, mon ami, choosing the Visa office--is not in the hands (read control) of the PR applicants."
we can choose New Delhi even if we have stayed in middle east for more than one year as it has been mentioned in application instruction that we can always choose our country of Nationality or country of residence.

Pl. calrify more if I am wrong. After staying in Abu Dhabi for more than 3 years I've chosen New Delhi as my VO.I've received 1st AOR and submitted docs to ND VO.If it is the case as told by you,My file would have been rejected/directed to London.

Best regards,
Edmonta

A indian working in Middle east country can opt for either London or New Delhi Visa Office. Choice is entirely yours. If he has a secure job in Gulf then try London , if he feels he could be terminated anytime better opt for New Delhi. It depends how secured your job is as this process takes a few months and transfer between visa office later increases the processing time. So think wisely and decide ur visa office.
