Dear Qorax,

Would you happen to know where do you go to valuate jewellery to declare at customs. You have to show the customs a valuation report, pics of the jewellery and receipts right? I tried to look for someone but can't seem to find anyone.

Kind Regards,
Alice.

Yes, u r right. It's good to carry the above while landing at the POE. Let me assure u though that u do not need to carry a 'valuation report' for the jewwllry [except for 'ultra-high value ones' -like 'Diamonds'].

Just carry all the pics [u can group them together like all rings, neclaces, bracelets etc], group them in 1 A4 sheet print-out each, that will suffice.

And use a B4A Form to mention 'only' jewellries, if they r of considerable qty. For the values, just post the 'market value' as u deem fit. If u have some of the purchase invoices, nothing like it. If u don't -doesn't matter. Then total them up, to arrive at a centralized 'overall figure'.

For high worth ornaments [aka Diamonds], u must carry a valuation report, if u do not have its purchase bill. That could be obtained from your 'local jeweller'.

Qorax.

For the 2nd, no CHC will accept Property Valuation Report. Ditto for the 3rd. As at the POE we need to show liquid POF.

For the 1st some CHCs accept the PV, but London, Islamabad, Manila etc [these r the ones I'm aware of] do not accept PV.

so it only means, that during the 120 day submission, I'm only allowed to show bank statements worth P1M?  I have a few amount of stocks, can I include this? Too bad if I won't be able to...

appreciate it qarax.

Yes, Stocks & bonds r acceptable. This is what CIC says:

Disclosure of funds
If you are carrying more than C$10,000, tell a Canadian official when you arrive in Canada. If you do not tell an official, you may be fined or put in prison.

These funds could be in the form of:
- Cash,
- Securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills), Or
- Negotiable instruments in bearer form (for example, bankers' drafts, cheques, travellers' cheques or money orders).

Ok then, and it is this also allowed for the 120 day submission, right?

From Dubai the pps take only 24 hrs to reach London, via DHL. Mine reached the very next day.

Thus, if u send it on 6th-7th Mar [Sat-Sun] it is likely to reach on 8th Mar [Mon], at max 9th [Tue]. So, if the deadline is 15th Mar, it should be OK.
