I had similar experience at Vancouver.I have some gold in the GTF list and the officer at the immigration said I need to call a number. Can you share with me the number you called for appointment? Briefly, some observations on my first visits: - They didn't want to stamp my B4 at airport, rather, I had to call to take an appointment. They also asked for Jewellery type, weight, purity, composition and value. - Since we are going to stay for less than 3 months, we have been asked to make the MSP "health card" later on, especially as I will be heading to Ontario the next visit. Nevertheless, we have to wait again for 3 month till we receive our cards. (In BC, we wait the rest of the landing month plus two more months) - BC is expensive. You can't survive long without a job. - BC has a fabulous nature. People are Ok ( not so friendly but also not rude) -Costco is a big cheap and nice shop to buy from in bulk. - Medical insurance is necessary in the 3 month waiting period. Either pre-landing insurance (traveler insurance) or to purchase it from Canada. Check this for e.g http://www.bestquotetravelinsurance.ca/visitors-to-canada-insurance- I'm still in BC for a while and I will keep updating you.

Hi Chaps, Do you know of any First year undergraduate student travelling to Toronto in August 2012? My son would like to travel alone but I thought it would be nice to have company.
Regards, Smikri

Dear All Kindly advice I sent LVO this E-Cas 27/06 & they replied the below, but I already send them a hard copy of Reconsidration letter along with Cover Letter & supporting docs at 09/07 & electronic e-mail in the same date, the VO named (IVH-IMS) had copied someone called Robert Stevenson in the below e-mail .... my inquiry is 1- Do U think they will go through the hard copy letter cause I included my defences against VO claiming my husband will not be econmically established in Canada & the ADAPTABILITY issue ?? 2- Who is Robert Stevenson is he the Programme manager?? 3- What are Ur opnion (s) for what should be my next move??My E-CASI would like London VO to reconsider my Refused application as I wasn't granted 5 points in ADAPTABILITY ( as I included in my App. my spouse's sister documents (birth certificates, bills, PR Card, children PR Cards, Bank Statement, driving License) , and she was a Permanent Residence in Canada since 2009 (and became Citizen May 2012) , Note non of these documents were returned back to me in the refusal letter. I attached some of the docs sent before with my App. Kindly advice if it is applicable to reconsider my App. as depriving me from this 5 points resulted in the refusal of my application.Your response is highly appreciated. Their RespondDear Sir, This refers to recent correspondence received at our office requesting reconsideration of your application for Permanent Residence in Canada as a Federal Skilled Worker. Your application for permanent residence in Canada was carefully considered by an officer according to the applicable sections of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, and you were sent a letter containing the full reasons for refusing your application. The decision was made based on the information on file at that time. You were sent a letter explaining the assessment, thereby concluding the assessment of your application. You were not granted any points for your relative in Canada because you did not provide any documentation on your application demonstrating that you are related to her and the documentation that you provided demonstrating residency did not demonstrate that she is resident in Canada. Should you have different information to submit or if you meet the requirements of a different immigration category, you can consider submitting a new application. For up-to-date information on how to apply for permanent residence in Canada, visit the website at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp. Please be informed that we will not respond to further requests to revisit this decision. Yours sincerely, Immigration Officer (IVH-IMS)

I landed in Vancouver few days back and i might post later my complete experience; I just wanted to warn every one about the high treatment cost in Canada. Buying a medical insurance can't be overemphasized in provinces which need three months for medical card processing "such as BC". The Captain was right; everyone should strongly consider having such a plan before landing. I say that because on our second day in Vancouver we had an unfortunate event; my wife and my daughter were injured in a car crash and were admitted to the hospital. They are allowed to leave the hospital now but the hospital bill was too expensive. I wish you all a safe landing.

Dear Sirs,
Am waiting for PPR for more than 6 months now....after medicals
Below is my case timeline: - We received your application for permanent residence on September 29, 2010. -We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on January 31, 2011 ****************. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us. - Your application was reviewed and we started processing on August 9, 2011. - Medical results have been received.
My Medicals were done on 27th December'2011 and RPRF FEES/MEDICALS were received by COC-London on 7th Januray2012. and later the line "Medical results have been received. " was added in Febuary 2012.
Am still waiting for Passport request. It is more than 6 months now...I have applied thru consultant,,they say reminder is sent but CIC is not responding....
Please advise the way ahead.>? - Should I contact CIC directly....? - or I should wait for my consultant response.? - Or and any chances for coming before expiry ...
Regards,
|
