Does anyone know how long it takes for work permit visa from Dubai. I have got job offer and now waiting for LMO as company in Canada have applied it. As per web site it says 6 months for work permit visa but I think it should be less than that. Any comments plz

@ er2d2g, You can very well go and print in the std A4 size paper which is slightly different (8.3" x 11.7") and it is perfect for the current purpose, and CHC suggests this for uniformity in their filing later on, I guess.
Whereas the 'legal' size as it is called is used for all legal/judicial purpose (just for convenience sake for filing instead of everyone providing their own sized paper).
Don't worry and proceed as above. Do keep in touch and write abt your landing and post landing experiences.
Best of Luck!
Bestpal
Thanx Bestpal Will definitely keep in touch Friday is the big day for us - Hope to write about our pleasant landing experience soon BTW are you in DXB or Toronto ? er2d2g

Hi captain, Credit card normally have 45 to 50 days credit to pay after statement date. How it works there in canada...? Most banks will offer u the basic Cr. Card, which have no annual maint. fees. However, they carry higher interest rates for the bal carried forward. But as long as u keep it cleared [by paying ur consumption on a day-to-day basis] u'd remain FREE of all costs.
We all do so... I clear-off my Cr. Card balances every week... thus, my Cr. Card remains 'topped-up' always -- and I don't incur any unnecessary charges.

Qorax,
Man your help is needed.
If I stay in Canada for 2 years in the last 2 years of my first PR in order to retain the PR status.. Will the 2 years be counted towards getting the citizenship afterwards? Means live another 1 year from the second PR card? Or shall it be a whole 3 years for the new PR card?
haven't found such questions anywhere. Thanks
Ahmed

If you are, then you need to obtain the proof of language proficiency(IELTS), police clearences, experience certificates, all certificates and mark lists pertaining to your education, proof of funds etc proceed with the application process.. All details are cited on their website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/Please go through the following thread, the Captain has made it very simple... http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t36571.0.html Any further information required, seniors will help you.. Best of luck.. rejis

Good evening everybody, Congratulations to all who got their visa recently and all the best for all who are in process. May the new Immigration season be of great news to all. Just a small question, is there any standard form for Proof of Funds or we just have to take our Drafts and cash with us as it is without any written application, I will appreciate your reply as am landing very soon. Best Regards

Dear jacky74
You just have to declare it once they give you a declaration form, if the amount exceeds $10,000, you don't need to write it anywhere. 80%draft and 20% cash is appropriate.
