Anything that isn't in English or French, and u want to submit it, u should have it 'legally' translated. Just that... no other stamping [from any other agency] is required.

Qorax

Hey Qorax, thanks for the reply.

This is my problem, what is "legally" and what's not. Here we have "certified translators". They translate doc to English, attach a copy of original document and stamp (translator's stamp) both english translation and copy.

Do we then have to authenticate it from any government officials/authority of the country?

There r many 'legal translators' in UAE... pls see the local classifieds. Their translated [and stamped] copies r sufficient.

Do these translators have a website or something? I'm asking because I live in Kuwait, and I thought the same situate in UAE applies here. Smiley

Dear Qorax,

Is money deposited monthly in my bank account in Canada considered as overseas income? (Just to note these are my savings and not Proof of funds). Meaning my dad will transfer it to me each month from my home country. Please reply to this query of mine because I am a little confused. Thanks you are one of a KIND.

Not mandatory. But wise to do so if u want the GST/HST credits.

Dear Vinod Kumar,

From my experience if you are living outside India you should visit the Indian Embassy and apply from there. They will give you a form to complete along with photo and passport copy. In the form you have to write arrival and departure dates of your stay in India.  It is a request for a police certificate, then depending on the country you live they will issue it accordingly. They told me it will take a year. So in my case I asked them for a letter, they gave a letter to me that I applied for the Police certificate in India but its under consideration. So if it takes time, send this letter along with a waiver request letter, by you or your agent to the VO. Hopefully they will grant your request. However Im not too sure about UAE, but I'm sure they're more cooperative there. Hope this helps.

 @ Vinodkumar,

You will need to obtain ONLY UAE PCC and (if any) of countries, other than your home country, if you have lived for more than 6 months. Clear instructions will be given to from CHC. You need to tabulate info regarding places wherever you have travelled (transit of less than 72 hrs not to be counted). Home country PCCs are asked only initially, not again. See my post on similar subject of last week.

NB: PCCs are asked for all members above 18!

Best Wishes!

To all Indians,

Here is the link to apply for INDIAN PCC from UAE. I was in an assumption that I will have to go to India to get it. But, no need, we can apply for the same anywhere in UAE, I mean in any branch of BLS INTERNATIONAL in UAE and it costs around 140.00 dhs and takes 5 working days. But prior to that you will have to take UAE PCC because BLS asks UAE PCC to process INDIAN PCC. For details, please follow the below link

Dear Qorax,

What kind of bank account do you recommend I should open in TD bank in Toronto. I am looking for one which does not change any monrey for me, where my I would get a high interest on the money deposited in my account. Also what type of credit card is preferred. I'd like your opinion on this.

Thank u very very much!
