Hi guys... posting after a long time...

I am happy that I have got my 2nd AOR (the one which you get from london office) on 23 Mar 2011.

the next step is to wait for medical request ... right? .. just want to ask how much time it takes after the 2nd AOR?

Got my 2nd AOR in July 2010, my status turned to In Process in March, still waiting for MR till now. I just checked with our agent, they are now receiving MR for March 2010 2nd AOR....hope that gives you some idea on the processing time in London VO. Goodluck.

Dear VINK,

What about the applicants (pre-June) who got the 2nd AOR in Oct-2010 from London VO? Please share your thoughts.

Regards,

smiling_face Smiley

Hi smiling_face Smiley ,

As per first set of ministerial instructions, the London CHC has to give priority for New Applications, which they believe by allowing these kind / these skilled applicants would boost Canada Economy.

Once they have filled the CAPS, i.e once they completed the 500 applicants quota for each of the 29 NOC listed occupations.
They may then set focus on pending or backlog applications forecasting their projections.

Needless to say, We have to just keep our fingers crossed & hope for the best.

Good Luck for your application.

Regards,
VINK

Hey guys!

I just received my 2nd AOR.  My consultant emailed me the copy of the letter they received via snail mail from London VO.  Smiley

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada which was recently received
at this office.  We have created a file with the file number pasted above........etc etc.....

Before your application can be placed in processing, a further determination will be made as to
whether   or not you are eligible.  If your application is not eligible for processing, you will receive
a letter informing you of the reasons for the decision as well as a refund. Sad

Applications for permanent residence in Canada in your category require on average 12 months
to process at this office....etc etc.

I have my 2nd AOR but still my application needs further determination before it can be placed in processing.  This 2nd paragpraph is worrisome.  I thought 2nd AOR means start of processing of documents...Now, for SOME of the pre-June applicants, this stage is like NER/PER version.

Hello Dear Friends,

By the grace of Allah, I was landed in Toronto with my wife and 4 kids on 12th July. It was 14 hours nonstop flight from Lahore. after landing every thing went smoothly and quickly. at first we reached at passport control, the guy sitting on counter just asked me for the fund declaration form which was given to us inside the plane. It was ready with me he checked it and put some lines with red marker and returned it back to me and guided me to immigration office.

There was not much rush at this time. The officer called me immediately and asked for passport and  COPR (IMM 5292B) forms. He took my signatures and my wife signed her form, I signed the form for my kids as well. He asked how much money I brought with me, I informed him he noted on the papers but did not ask me to show the cash or draft.
Then he stamped the passports and returned it to me along with a copy of COPR, Thats it. At next door two ladies were standing to greet us and they gave a bag of various informative material for new immigrants.

Then we headed towards the luggage collection area. I didn't have the coins for trollies, I tried to get some change of hundred dollars, but did not found. the lady standing next to trollies told me that u can use yr credit card as well to get the trollies. I used my visa credit card and took two trollies for my luggage.

After taking our luggage we reached towards the customs, the lady over their asked me for declaration form, goods in hand form+ detail of electronic items, mobile phones detail,  detail and pictures of jewelry and a list of goods to follow.

2 copies for every thing was ready (thanks to Great qorax, he explained in detail, how to prepare all these). Custom officer stamped on one copy of all details and pictures of jewelry and returned me for my record and future use.

All process took around one hour, that could be less if you are traveling alone or with small family. The weather outside was pretty hot (for Canadians) on that day at 2 pm temperature outside was 30 degree. for us, people traveling from Pakistan and UAE the weather was good.

i will write further in a short while

Zaheer

Dear Bro Zagy,

Thanks for the landing exp info.

Wish you success in your endeavours in your dreamland. Please be prepared to welcome and greet us at the Airport. Cheesy Dont worry you will be happy to meet us Wink

Best Wishes,

Hi Pals,

I'm new to this fantastic and useful site.

I'm applying under the category 1122 as a Marketing Specialist, got almost all the documents, except the following:

1. Bank Statement [Will get it on 01 August].

2. I hold a master degree, do I need to submit my Bachelor transcript also in a sealed envelope?

3. My wife has a Bachelor degree, we have the sealed transcript, should I also include her diploma? if yes, then is should also be sealed??.

4. Although I scored total of 9 in IELTS 1 Basic, 2 moderate and 1 high still my total scored points is 68 would this suffice?.

5. One of the companies where I was working for is currently shutdown!!!!! Thanks GOD that I have my experience certificate with all my duties mentioned and I still have the contact # for their HR Manager, should I stick a note on the experience letter stating this? or what I should do? this is confusing me!!!

I really need to know what I have to do before I submit my application.

Thanks!

Hello guyz,

I have sent my passport for stamping on July 9, 2011 to London Office.

1) Just wanted to ask that how much time will it take to get my passports back?

2) Secondly what are the other docs I need to prepare for landing other than Goods to Accompany and Goods to Follow List.

3) In what form should I carry the required funds with me.

Thanx in advance

It'd be foolish to EX/IM our furnitures to Canada, however exquisite/valuable they r... here u'd find same/or better ones @ BETTER prices. The cost of transportation, efforts, time & procedural headaches just don't make it worth.

Qorax

Note:
With a new country - have a new beginning... start afresh... clear-off our minds... overcome prejudices... learn to change - change to learn... look @ life differently... make the Canadian transition... do some self-introspection... appear different... take risks [u have already taken one while on this journey]... appreciate the benevolence of this great nation... make friends [some new ones] - cast, creed, religion, sex, color doesn't matter here... and soon u'd find that "u have arrived"!

1. Usually by 4-6 weeks u'd receive the pps thru Aramex.
2. Read the 'landing' thread to know all.
3. If it's less than $20K - carry all 'in cash'. If it's more, make a DD for 80% of the funds [20% in cash].

Good luck!
