Hi Muji these are all tools to push the time . so from dec slowly people will start getting so tht the visa staming will be done only on Jan 2011. good luck buddy biju Thanks Sattar, it seems that london office has started processing cases with christmas in close proximity.
Hope everyone waiting will get thier cases processes quickly, there has been some chatter in different forums over visa quota exhausted by London office for 2010. But I think now that the year end is near things will start to pick up again.
All the best

Dear Seniors,
I have one query regarding point 9 (3) of the form IMM 0008 which is as follows:-
9. Have you, or , any of your family members listed in application ever:
"been refused refugee status in, or an immigrant or permanent residence visa or visitor or temporary residence visa to, Canada or any other country, or have been refused a Certificat de selection du Quebec (CSQ) to Quebec."
In my case, my spouse had applied for US visit visa in 2001 as her sister is in US. They had denied the visit visa to her because they thought she will settle in US. In spouse passport, there is stamp of US Consulate General - Application received on 14th NOv 2001" and small stamp of fees refunded from US FACILITATION SERVICE.
In short she had applied for visit visa to US but had been denied due to above reason given.
Do I need to tick "Yes" and give explanation....?
In Initial application to CIO, I had not selected "Yes" and selected "No".
Please advise for same.
Regards Cool

Hi They will have to go back to Canada to get PR card for their son. And son can travel without card all they need to do is to apply for a PR travel document at their local embassy. Below is the link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/travel.aspCheers Saki

Read this today on one of the threads....so keep smiling and be Happy :-)
Qorax you might have some more info on Toronto too, let us know.
===============================================================================
This was on Yahoo today:
.....Happy days are always here for Canadians
.Canadians are a stubbornly happy bunch, a study on life satisfaction has revealed.
A steady drumbeat of gloomy economic news doesn't appear to be bumming out the vast majority of Canadians. And one of the authors of the study says that's because, as the old saying goes, money can't always buy happiness.
Last year, 92.1 per cent of Canadians over age 12 considered themselves satisfied or very satisfied with their lives, according to the study, which was conducted by the Canadian Centre for the Study of Living Standards, in tandem with the Institute for Competitiveness and Prosperity.
Andrew Sharpe, the centre's executive director, said the data show Canadians have remained relatively happy over time. In 2008, 91.4 per cent were satisfied or very satisfied, while five years earlier, in 2003, 91.3 per cent declared themselves happy.
"This will surprise some people, but Canadians in general are pretty happy," he said.
The life-satisfaction measure is based on data collected by Statistics Canada through its annual Canadian Community Health Survey, which polls Canadians about health issues and quality of life.

Give me your phone no., will call you back with details to get the PCC from Saudi.
Hi Thommo, Thanks for your reply.
Saudi arabia is different in many ways than others. Today I visited the Saudi Consulate in Dubai. The guy at the security gate itself did now allow me to get inside and said they do not entertain issues like police clearance certificate here. To obtain it, the applicants must contact Saudi Embassy in their respective countries (for us ,India ).
I'm not really sure if the Saudi Embassy in New Delhi is issuing PCC.
do you have any suggestion.
I suggest you talk to consulate people (or Saudi embassy in Abu Dhabi) on phone. Security guy may not be in a position to give you a correct picture. If they don't issue PCC here in UAE, you can talk to their embassy in India. The very fact CHC, London is insisting on PCC from KSA means that other people succeeded in getting it from there. They don't insist on PCC from countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.

Generally 3-5 months. Avg 3 months. The delayed ones may go till 7 months (usually). Ppl stuck with Security Checks may hit 1yr++ (but they r rare cases). 1. Did u send them an Enquiry? 2. Did u obtain your CAIPS Notes? If not -- do it NOW. Qorax
