It is a box at a Canadian office overseas where you "drop" off your application rather than mailing or couriering it.  The office treats it as a mailed application.

No, only if the VO requests that you attend an interview.

PMM here my situation ... i am not living in Canada, however i travel many time b4 to Canada and US an many other counties

..This time i be in USA after visiting Canada ( weekend) an would like to renew my visa while in US..( visa expire Oct)...while doing this i would like to submit an application for my mom...i would like to take her to see Canada ( winder season ) i am from the Caribbean. She don't have a US visa. So she authorizing me to conduct her business while in USA....Here my concern..while i renew mine is it possible i get bk her passport in 9 days instead 10 ? i am single male 29 yrs...i have decent job where i am senior financial analysis ..bank account balance 25,000 CAD, i belong to an accounting professional body ( CGA) . Whats your assessment on me taking my mom to Canada an support her application for 1 week vacation.? I would really appreciate your opinion.
