I am an Australian, and over 5 years ago i was caught for driving under the influence of drugs (Methamphetamine). I was not convicted or arrested, I was given an on the spot fine and 3 demerit points on my license. Does anyone know if this would prevent me from getting a working visa? If so, should i chance it and not mention the offense?

Were you detained?
Have you seen your police check?

If you do not declare it and they find out about it, not good.

I havent as yet requested my police check, but will be doing that to make sure. I wasnt detained at a police station, just at a police bus on the roadside for a while when they were testing the results..

and its not all about sunshine and beaches!! i plan on going to whistler for a snow season or 2, think it will be an amazing experience.

thanks for your replies
