Hello we are US citizens.  We are flying to Vancouver for a vacation next summer for a few weeks.  We plan to rent a car while in Vancouver and would like to drive back into the states to visit our daughter in Idaho then drive back to Canada.  Will we have any problems doing this?

I would contact the rental company to ask what they allow.

I am a Brit, I have rented cars in Canada and driven in and out of the USA many times with no problem.
But I did let the rental company know my intentions before I started the rental.

there was no problem for us to cross the US border on Canadian car too, so I guess you can do it easily.
