Shocked Is this really a problem? My dad is also in my bank accounts (I am the primary and the money is absolutely mine). My dad is in the accounts just in case something where to happen to me it would make it easier for them.

Lips sealed I submitted my POF and never heard anything about this

I read the manual and there is no mention that the funds have to be in an account under your name only. Also, I think in my case, that if they compare salary and available funds this would help the assessment. Has anyone seen that joint accounts are not permitted somewhere?

Also, to me it wouldn't make sense to reject someone bc someone else is listed as a non primary account holder. My account has been that way for the last 9 years

Here is the manual

Hey brother beast, don't fret we both r on the same boat, i read the manual twice over again, i also haven't found any details that suggest rejection. I pm'd Qorax the great! he mentioned that it is preferred to have an individual account and not a joint. However, in his reply he has not mentioned that this could be any grounds for an out rite rejection.

I am looking into this further if i find something new ill surely let you know too. I hope this helps...

SHah,

What about his post in reply to you states it is not acceptable (see below)

-I've replied ur PM.
-A joint a/c with ur mom isn't acceptable.
-Though a freshly opened a/c will deem dubious [seem gifted or loaned money] - however, it's beter than having that joint a/c.

Yeah tru i just read this too. Now im confused again, as in both cases its not the right thing to do. A joint account is not acceptable on the other if i open a new acc and send details its dubious... ugghh! as if this wait isnt frustrating enough!!!

And i was asking you not to fret... In any event i have pm'd rather bothered Qorax again and asked for the best step ahead i.e., whether to wait for CHC to request POF or to open a new independent acc. and send its details to CHC.

Lets see wat boss man has to say....

I have been thinking some more in the issue. I doubt this is a problem in my case given that I have direct deposit in my account by my employer. How more legitimate that this account belongs to me? They have proof of every payment I receive on the statements too

Actually you can send updated documents to the visa office at any time after they receive the file, without being asked for them. The visa officer will then examine all the documents available at the time when they start processing. For example, we initially provided estate agent quotations and mortgage letter as proof of funds with equity in our property. Then whilst our application had arrived at London visa office, we had saved up sufficient bank funds to also cover the minimum, so we sent these to the visa office as additional proof of funding.

Regarding POF in joint name with father, please note if you do get the funds transferred into your own name only, you should also get a signed affidavit from your father stating that these funds are now wholly yours and do not need to be repaid. VO will query such a large sum being deposited, and how otherwise will they know which portion of these funds are yours and which still belong to your father?

Best of luck,
Wayne.

I have placed various FDs for a short period (90-100 days). I usually got the same renewed on maturity date, but for another 90-100 days only. Will this create a problem? Also, I have purchased or have been gifted jewellery many times. Can I sale the same and deposit money received in my savings account and claim the same as POF?

As far as I know your 'Proof of funds' should already be with the CHC when you sent 2nd set of document.
1. FDs are fine in my opinion as long as you have the documentation for same i.e. you have them in the same bank and keep on renewing the FDs or you have multiple accounts and share the details with CHC.
2. Sale of gold is absolutely fine. Make sure you have a receipt of the sale and if possible make the transaction in cheque rather than cash if the amount is more(maybe 1 lakh), but have receipt for all sales.
