Hi ,

I did engg from India tier 2 engg college in Gujarat. I need to submit my documents soon. I thought I can submit my notorised copies of marksheet from 1st to 8th sem. I live in US and there is no one I know in that college and I graduated like 15 yrs ago....

My question is: In case of transcripts, can I submit my notorised copies or original marksheet for engg? I have official transcripts for my US master's degree....

I am planning to send my doc in few days...

As per your local visa office checklist if its mentioned then I would suggest you send transcripts since it will make your case 100 % proof. Since it depends upon the mood of visa officer I would not suggest you to take a chance. Send transcripts of all degree's if its mentioned in the checklist.

hi.....

you must be having family friends/ relatives in gujarat.  You do not need to know people from the college to do that work.

you have not mentioned the name of the college from where you have done it.  If it is a reputed one they might have the online transcript request form available on line.  Fill it up, may the appropriate fee in whatever from they ask you(online payment or DD) and then post it.  If it is not available on line they somebody will have to go and get it from the university campus.  In some places i have read they do it in a day if you take the originals along however that varies.  Like in delhi university they ask you your university enrolment no. and they check their own official records and issue in sealed envelopes in 1--2 wks.

also private colleges are more accommodating than government colleges.

hope that was helpful.

you can also try the services of 'your man in india' - give a google search!

i have NOT used their services; personally i feel they charge little hefty... however, if you have no other choice left, this would save you for the day!

hope it helps.

cheers boltz.

Well i see that the college i went to in Gujarat have a website now. I tried to see if they have any transcript service, the college name in Lukdhirji Engineering College. I e-mailed the id which say principal @ xxxxxxxxx.com, but in two days now answer. I am not the priciapl applicant and see that they will let it go..at I have seen from posting some ppl have sent notorized copies of marksheets as well.. I dont think I have time and energy left to have someone help me get the transcript from India.
Still wondering the best way...
