Med's Request: Waiting MR

« on: December 25, 2010, 02:05:22 am »

Hi all,

I need your help guys.

I am a bit worried about my situation and timeline. My status is RBVO and anytime soon, hopefully, I might receive a medical request from London VO. Now, my manager has planned and scheduled me to travel overseas for a business trip (work related) for 2 months starting mid February. What if during this period VO will request for medical and I am still abroad. Does VO allow extension of deadline of medical results submission?

Worst case scenario: What if MR, RPRF, and PPR come all together while I am abroad. Do you think VO will give me grace period to accomplish all this after my assignment abroad?

For those who have experienced the same thing or have ideas how to deal it, please opine.

Thanks.

generally you will get 45 or 60 days to complete the medicals...........won't you return by then?

nonrtheless, you can always write to your CHC, to delay the medicals, if you are unsure of returning by then.

Most countries have DMP ,so basically you could take the medicals almost anywhere so long that the doctor is on the approved list and the results will still be sent to Ottawa for analysis. I have read on this forum that VOs do not analyse the medical results

How about getting a visa to the nearest country for english speaking DMP? Otherwise regardless of the language spoken by DMP ,the medical tests are the same for every one in the class applied for.
Or you can fly back for a day to your country, medicals only take a day.
I think at this stage a deadline request will only delay your file processing ,London VO is known for long processing times ,some cases just get forgotten for years.

As a few other members already advised get the medical done where ever you are and again most doctors can converse a little bit in English, on the other hand I won't advise you to write to London asking them to delay sending your medicals as that might delay your case by up to 5-6 months. But what you can do is when they send the medicals if you are not back by then just send them explaining that you are out of the country and ask them for a longer time, in that case as soon as you are back take the medicals so that your case is not delayed unnecessairly.

Medical in French language also acceptable. try to done medical instead of writing VO and getting delay your PR status. one more important thing if DMP is understood you and you get clear your medical then no problem if he wrote french medical report to VO.
