kingtreek, you say that they make background checks. but as I know people dealing with Turkey are not related to those countries that could cause the security problems to Canada. Why do they check on you so long?

When a file is waiting for security clearances to come back, there is nothing an overseas mission can do.  It's now in the hands of CSIS and they take as long as they take.  I'm sorry, I know that's not what you want to hear but CIC can't do anything.  Even the courts cannot do anything on this.  CSIS has the power, by legislation, to take as long as it deems necessary to ensure security checks are done to their satisfaction.

please do explain what are the main reasons for security clearances? do they do it on people who never stayed in another country longer than 3 months?

is it possible to break the contract with your lawyer?
it looks like he does everything to slow down your application

yes, in your situation this could be the only way to do it. just way and see what CAIPS tells you. hope you will receive a letter from the visa office sooner than your CAIPS notes come.
good luck!
