These timelines varied to different of up to three months.It has been reported that the immigration department has given its consent to the findings revealed by the audit. They have brought out the plans for improvements to better their system.

Talk about CAIPS system, it still looks as if they are using software that was built on foxpro or some old software. Anyways hoping for good and quick outcome after that.

Nope, not quite it is a mainframe system from the 60s running on COBOL.  Platforms were Burroughs B60s and B69s.  Later UNISYS 17s Presently the legacy systems are migrating to the Gobal Case Management System, which incorporate, Citizenship (already running) CAIPS, FOSS, and a couple of other systems.  Project has been in development since about 2001.  It is supposed to incorporate the Overseas offices from 05/10 to 03/11.  Supposed to be complete by 2013.

Sounds like system migration to me.
