Hi,
Last year, I was on PTA, while working for one government organization for six months. After that I joined an independent firm and from there I am enjoying a respectful salary and benefits.
Recently I got married and want to sponsor my wife, currently living outside the Canada. I have some questions:
1. Since I was on PTA, I am not eligible to sponsor my spouse?
2. I will go to another country for just 15-20 days to get married (as that's the maximum time I am getting from my job) and my potential wife has already selected in my community. Now, my question is if this would create any problem in her immigration process. If so, then what proof immigration office would need to get satisfied?
Thank you in advance for your expert replies.
Regards
hsperhar
By PTA I think you mean Partial Temporary Assistance? As long as you are not on social assistance now, you will not have a problem sponsoring your spouse.
I don't understand your wording "my potential wife has already been selected in the community." Without understanding what you mean, I can't answer your question. I think you might mean something to do with an arranged marriage but I am not sure. If that is the case, you would have to provide proof of how and by whom it was arranged. I don't know much about arranged marriages.
