Although the IELTS is not mandatory for SINP family class, but as Sobia says ,its very helpful for you .Sometime the VOs asks IELTS from SINP applicants .So go ahead, its not difficult.

Masood bahi, i recommend you to pass your IELTS exam before they ask. coz they want you to submit within 60 days after they ask for IELTS. so sometimes due to rush there is chance that some people don't get the exam date. You get result after 10 days of exam and it also take 5 to 6 days for courier service to deliver the result at CIC office. So for the safe side please pass IELTS exam. It is also good for your personal grooming as in future you have to communicate in English. So just relax just start preparing your self and when you prepared well just sit in the exam. Simple
Yar meri english buri i get 6 yar. I am sure you will get 7

Dear brother,

English Language ability is a mandatory requirement to apply for SINP. Now there are 5 options to provide proof of language ability mentioned in the family member application guide page No. 18. which states "If your first language is not English, you must prove your English language ability with
one of the following:"
(out of 5 options)

Provincial nominees

Starting July 1, 2012 - most Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applicants to semi- or low-skilled professions will need language testing. This test will show whether your skills meet a minimum standard in each of these four categories: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

This does not apply if you are a temporary foreign worker in a NOC C & D occupation, and who:
•enter Canada on or before July 1, 2012, and
•are nominated by an employer under the PNP streams by July 1, 2013.
