My wife has a couple of previous Visitor visas I do not believe it speeds things up in anyway. But a couple of people have told me that the fact she received them is a positive simply due to the fact she had to jump through the hoops to get them and both times did an interview so I guess people are assuming it is taken into account. I don't know whether their opinion is accurate or not but of course I do hope so.

My wife was issued a visitor record, complete with a Client Id. We put this on the app, and are hoping that speeds things along.

If the previous visits that she made to Canada were to be with you it can be used as a proof that she has visited you several times, development of your relationship and so on. It won't speed up your processing time but it can be a really good proof.

But if her previous visits were to visit family or reason other than be with you so she should put more effort into the Sponsorship application since it can be used by CIC as reason for denial or raise red flag, i.e she is trying to come to Canada through you to be with her family.

CIC do care about previous attempts of visas or issued visas when looking to prove if a marriage is bona fide or not, some people use Spouse Sponsorship as the last resource to immigrate to Canada.

So, if her previous visits were to be with you, use that as proof. If she came to visit family, try explaining explicitly that her family has nothing to do with her trying to immigrate to Canada. Smiley
