My friends have a 2 months old baby and they plan to visit Canada in the next couple of weeks. They are both citizens of the US, but the baby doesn't have a passport yet, only a birth certificate. Would it be enough for them to cross the border, or do they need any additional documets?

Thank you!

from what i know all infants need to have a passport to cross the border, especially now with the new laws that came into place just the beginning of Feb 08. No one can travel with just their birth certificate anylonger and all passengers require their own passport even infants.

1.  Don't need a passport if crossing the border by car.
2.  Require a passport if traveling by air.
