Hi,

I'm going to write my exam next week and of course (according to the notice) I have to bring with me bunch of document that will confirm that what I have in application is true.

One of the requested documents is letter of employment BUT I am my own boss (self employed). I did paid taxes and I have my notice of assessment for all years but I don't have a boss that will write me this letter.

Is anybody been in this situation? Is the Notice of assessment will be enough?

Bring your assessment.  From personal experience, people I saw who were missing documents, they will not kick you out.  They will let you take the test and if they want some other data, they will ask you to bring it later.  Since you are self-employed, do you have a major client or two who could write you a letter?

Hi Klan,

Good luck with your test. I applied 2 months after you did in 2010. On May 10, 2011, the file was transferred to the Edmonton office. I think you received the notification to attend the test the very next week after it was received in the Edmn office.

Can you please tell me when was the test date (notice for the test) and the oath ?

Thanks

HI Klan,

How did your test go? Could you please tell me how long the time lines were from the date you received the letter to attend the test.

Thanks

Hi Leon,

I also just did the citizenship test which I think might be positive result. When I came to take the test, the immigrant stuff asked me bunch of papers I need to show but I missed some. One of them is the old passport which I mentioned in the application. She asked me to mail her the old passport when I got home. However, I have only copy of it. Do you think would it be accepted? I have tried to call the given number but nobody answer me, it is hard to predict. If you know,  please tell me that would be appreciated

Thanks in advance.
All the best
Kathy

If you only have a copy of it, then send the copy.  What else can you do?
