Doctor says we need to apply to Immigration first before getting examined?

I was always under the impression that we needed to get he medical first before applying.

But they said we need to apply first and immigration will sign something and then we go.
Does this make sense to anyone?

Umm...I just answered this somewhere else, but let me post it here again:











*sigh* Explain to whomever you talked to at the doctor's office that this is a spousal application, you are required to do the medical upfront in order to submit it WITH your application. 

Please refer them to the Handbook, Section 11.1, the fourth form from the top is the IMM1017 EFC plus the Appendix C (which you will take with you) and clearly says under Instructions: "The IMM 1017 EFC is used by DMPs for up-front medical exams. It is used when an applicant presents a completed Appendix C – Medical Instructions form." and says under Usage: "Sponsored applicants processed outside Canada (also excessive demand exempt)."

when you hand them the appendix C or D(now) to DMP's secretary/receptionist/assistant or whatever they are called, they should know what to do with it.That was all I did- I handed them my form - didnt say or explain anything, and the assistant knew what to do.She filled up the EFC form and had me sign on it.

If you went to a DMP's clinic and they advised you with that, be worried, because they do not know what they are saying? Nothing is complicated,like really.If i may ask, who among the DMPs in Baguio told you that?

Yes it was the DMP in Baquio. They were confused.

if you show them the form no problem, I think that they, or at least the secretary believes that maybe you must apply in order to get the form which is not true.

Once I showed her the forms it was fine

By the way it was Dr. Damasco Bangaoet.
Seems to be a very good doctor and professional, I think his secretary was just somewhat confused....or maybe it was my partner who was confused....anyway all good now

Also The other Dr. Danila C in Baguio currently is not accepting Canadian Immigration at this time

The doctors and their staff are often confused about the requirements, because the requirements for the different classes of immigrants are different. For parents and grandparents, they wait for the visa office to request the medical, as do the business and worker classes. We have had a lot of people on the forum tell us that the receptionist or doctor did not understand what to do with the forms when they went in to be examined.
