And if so, do you think it gives them more of an insight rather than just what is in the procedure manuals?  Do you think they are even allowed to read it?  Do you think it matters?  Do you think they care/have the time/inclination?

Questions and curiosity ....    :-)

I don't know if you'll easily be able to find it back, but some time ago someone that knows a CIC officer posted that they don't read these forums. Mainly because they have a quota to reach and they simply lack time to browse the internet looking for posts from/on the applicants. Besides that, what does it add? The information on the internet is just one big speculation, not really reliable. People lie, misrepresent themselves, misinterpret, get bad impressions and spread the bad opinions, etc. Not reliable for immigration purposes, if it's any value at all.

I would be willing to guarantee you 100% that at least some people that work in the immigration arena read the forums. I don't for a minute think they have time through the work day but they are at the end of the day just regular human beings working a job and having a live and family outside of that. I would be much more surprised if some of them didn't have a peek once in a while from home to kill some time or for something to do... it only makes sense as so much of their professional lives are wrapped up in what we are talking about.

Having said that I can't imagine for one second it makes a difference one way or the other from a professional stand point but I would still bet they do read them once in a while.

Even if any of CIC staff read the postings, they have nothing to do with the posted  opinions and discussion topics appearing in the forum. They are paid employees of Canadian Federal service and not much enthusiastic like any commercial establishment who are keen about improving or trying to develop the customer service. Moreover, I don't think the CIC staff may utilize their time to read the problems of applicants in any discussion forums.
