If they are satisfied with the background check, the medical request is issued.

Background check is done simultaneously as far as I know as I have completed medicals & paid RPRF 2 months ago and checked on my status for PPR and canadian visa office came back saying Background is in progress and no specific time limit for completion was given.

As far as I know they do the verification of all the documents just before sending the medicals request and after medicals are received, then another round of in-depth verification is done by directly calling the employers as well as universities or through an external agency and then only they will decide on the final approval.

One of my friend in Singapore had mentioned this to me as his employer got two rounds of calls for verification.

However, this may change from location to location.

I have also seen both ways

BC->RPRF+PASSPORT->Medicals
BC->Medicals->RPRF+Passport

so anything is possible

Hello brothers
yes me also facing same situation
i had done my medical on 31 June and submitted my RPRF and Police verification on 10 of July2009.
after that i did not receive any letter from Visa office .
then i sent mail to them iquirng about the delay for the next letter.
in their reply then said that

"(We are currently doing your background checks on your past life .
as soon it would be finished, we will contact you.)"

so i dont now either it is a normal procedure or they do it on special cases.

I think it's normal that they check bacgrounds of past life. They do it for all applicants. Hang in there and good luck! I hope you get a response soon. Good luck to all members !

I hve received Medical, RPRF and Passport request simultaneously. In my Pass Port request letter thay said that

'We will be ready to issue your immigration visa pending a favourable admissibility determination'

What does it mean?
