The landing date is chosen by the applicant, as long as it is within the validity of the visa.
Individuals can choose to land months after getting their visa.

Thanks Baloo but the question is whatever date they choose to land on, does that date count as completion date of the process? or the date of the stamping of the visa count as the completion of the process?

My strong guess is that it can't be the landing date ... cz landing date is a variable not in control of the Visa Office

But ...

on the online status webpage, "COMPLETE" refers to "Applicant Arrives in Canada and is Granted Permanent Residence"

that's when I get in slight doubt

It is the end of the process when you land.

But the times shown by CIC are only averages for 80% of cases, they are not set in stone, every case is different.

Are you looking for a deadline?

Thanks Baloo ...

I'm not looking for a deadline ... well ... I'm desperate to get it over with just like everyone else ...

but the reason I raised this question is that when we look at timelines of people on this forum they look much shorter than the one posted on CIC website ... now it could be because of the 80% thing that you mentioned ... or it could be cz CIC puts processing times that includes landing that's why they always look longer than actual timelines ...

though I doubt its the 2nd case ... just my wishful thinking
