Hi All,

I'm in Toronto, Canada on a closed work permit sponsored by my employer. The work permit is valid till March 2012. I found a new job with a new employer based in Quebec who is also willing to sponsor me a work permit.

Now since i have resigned from my previous employer and staying in Canada as a visitor, Do i need to update immigration Canada about this? AFAIK I can stay until my valid work permit as a visitor till I get a new work permit.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Regards,

Yes you can stay, you revert to being a visitor until the expiry of your work permit.  No, you don't have to inform CIC.
