hi

im on the process of obtaining an LMO as a Cook. the thing is that i saw in CIC that there are minimum requirements (like advertising on a known website, on job bank and some on newspapers) to be able to obtain a positive LMO. i saw the different skill types and their corresponding requirements of advertising. i think Cooks belong to skill type B which says the minimum requirement is to place an ad in the job bank and any known jobsites and it doesnt say to advertise on newspapers or so.. my question is... is it safe to do the minimum requirements or i still need to advertise on the newspapers? (it'll save me some money if i dont advertise on newspapers Cheesy) thank you very much for your responses

How to get an LMO here: http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/workplaceskills/foreign_workers/supperimm.shtml

Ask Service Canada about the minimum requirements.  They should be able to tell you if it's enough to advertise on the job bank and how much money needs to be offered.  I know my employer at one time wanted to hire helpers for $11 an hour but was refused because Service Canada said they need to make 15.
