My dad has PR status in Canada, and I want to move there next year - live in the UK. So i wanted to know if I need to apply for a study permit or apply for PR when registering for high school, or can I just move there and register without them asking for my immigration papers.

You dad can sponsor you and there is a possibility for you to arrive as a permanent resident. However that could take longer to get processed comparing to a study permit. You are not allowed to come here and study without a study permit as well.
