D/License Letter of Authentication from Abu Dhabi.. HOW???

I need to get the Letter of authentication from Abu Dhabi traffic police for driving license, can some one please tell me the procedure for getting that done...

In Dubai, I know that RTA issues the letter of Authenticity (approach them with few photos, PP copy with Visa page, Original UAE driving License and the applicable fees fill the relevant forms). Nowadays all the major shopping malls has a branch where you can complete the formalities.

In Abu Dhabi, contact the Traffic Department's driving license issuing authority's office/service centre with the above docs.

I believe the said letters are issued on the spot; Also dont forget to take the International Driving license (I think it costs around DH 100/-) The above two documents will waive you of the G002 exam while acquiring your DL in Canada. Only G001 (written Test) needs to be given.

I have D/L from Abu Dhabi, will i be able to Letter of authenticity from Dubai RTA or no, plz advice

Most likely, RTA has no jurisdiction for Abu Dhabi/or other emirates issued licenses for renewal/special services etc. Still, call up RTA's tollfree # 800-9090 to verify. If it does then best of luck if it does'nt then Abu Dhabi's concerned authority can only issue that.

Whatever the case, just update for others to know.

From Abu Dhabi I got the letter of authentication (contains English/Arabic  @  50 aed) from Personnel office (opposite of information counter) on second floor (Driving License building Abu Dhabi - Street 27)

Also got Internation driving license from Post office (madinat zayed post office) for 140 AED...

Do check here in similar threads or from our dear friend qorax if the Letter of Authenticity needs any attestation from this end (UAE).

I believe you are travelling in the coming weeks. If you can post your airline choice and the reasons thereof, for others in the UAE to benefit. How did you handle your cargo issue?

You have options regarding the Cargo by Air freight mode, namely:

1) You may take your luggage as accompanied luggage when travelling. Limitations apply regarding size/weight and is quick but uneconomic unless urgent. Work out the economics yourself. You shd contact your airline/agent regading this.

2) You shd contact a reliable cargo agent and book your cargo by sea/air cargo as you wish, giving enough time for it to be delivered upon your arrival or as you prefer. (e.g. it takes min 3 weeks fm Dubai to Toronto + days of processing by SEA cargo) or 3-4 days by Air Cargo.
