Why is that a disturbing story?  Are people not doing this all the time?  To tell you the truth though, if the mans son had not died, he would not have been able to sponsor him later because he did not mention him and get a medical for him when he applied for PR.

It is disturbing because it is real strory...it was a DONE DEAL agreement of all parties involved including parents. Lawyer was aware but pretended (Deaf Ear)...while genuine people can get refused....

There are all kinds of fraudsters out there but if you are open for applications from real couples, you will get fraudsters too.  Same with refugees.  For example, look at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/visit/mexicanvisit-faq01.asp   Do you think all of the 9400 people who came from Mexico claiming refugee status in 2008 were really refugees?  In the end, only 11 percent of them were accepted.  You think even all of them were really refugees?  I am sure some of them lied about their cases to improve their chances.  That's the way it goes.  People lie and immigration tries to catch them.
