what is the difference between SPP student and student of GENERAL category?

Hi,

The basic difference is the proof of funds u show,

For SPP u need  to show an educational loan  equal or more than 80% of ur tuition fees and living expenses for 1 yr in canada. in general u can show the funds in ur or ur sponsorsz account.

SPP is faster processin wid lesser documents but there is a list of canada colleges that fall into this category. Check this link for more info

i have few contacts over there in canada.
and i have heard that SPP students are allowed to work for 20 hrs/week during study.

is it??

There is no different between the working rules for SPP students and general students.

You can work on campus (at the school) as soon you arrive.

After you have completed 6 months of study - you will be able to apply for an off campus work permit if you attend one of the following schools:
