Hi everybody,

I will send my PR application soon, and I need some help.

I got few questions, and I can't find answers. I even called several times to CIC, but every time they give me different answers.... Shocked

I appreciate if you share your experience here, and it's gonna be useful for many other Caregivers too.

1. What is 'Statement of earnings'?  Did you actually send all your Payrolls for 2 years?  My payrolls are made with Online Calculator, and there is a note on each payroll that 'The printed calculations created by PDOC are not intended to be a statement of earnings and therefore should not be used as such'...... I'm confused!

2. Do I have to provide timesheets if I will use Option2 but I earned 3900h with regular hours? I worked overtime too, but i don't need to claim them, because I have enough regular hours.  Did EVERYBODY who used Option2 provided timesheets?

3. Who is responsible to make timesheets and statement of earnings? Employer or employee?
Well, I think it's employer's responsibility to make them, but in what time does the employer due to do it? I need to request it from my ex-employer, so I should send her a deadline and provide with a link to prove this timing.

Please share your thoughts; it will help me a lot!!!

Thank you.

Hi LIC Ont,

Statement of Earnings:  You can tabulate in Excel your Statement of Earnings and Deductions.
Organize it Monthly from the beginning with columns of EARNINGS, DEDUCTIONS, and NET PAY.
Ask your Employer to sign it at the bottom.

I applied using Option 1, made copies of all my Pay Slips, signed them, and included with the application.

If you changed employer, you need to include an ROE from your previous employer/s.

Good luck.   Smiley

Do you have a link, about the employer's signature on Pay Slips? I didn't know it should be signed.

Pay Slip and Payroll, is it the same thing? Or is there any difference?

Yes I changed my employer. Did you mean I need ROE but not Pay Slips from my EX-employer? Or both?

Thank you so much for helping me!

I'm trying to figure out these things....

Hi LIC-Ont,

In my case, my employer calculates my salary online (just like yours on PDOC). This gives him the correct calculations/amount. He will then give me a copy of the calculations - my pay slips.

As long as what you are getting from your employer have these entries;
Gross and net pay, specific deductions, the purpose of these deductions, and the total hours worked (including overtime) during that pay period.  You can then organize and tabulate these on Excel as your Statement of Earnings and Deductions.

You need both. Your slips that you recieved every pay period and the ROE that indicates your reason for leaving, hours worked, gross earnings, and any money paid or payable at the time you left your job.

Re the signatures:  I have no link.  But I assume that to make these documents factual, truthful, and legitimate they must be signed.

Just to confirm, you were NOT doing it on Excel, right? You submited Pay Slips that were printed from PDOC? But there are no hours indicated in it.... Or did you have hours worked shown in your pay slips? Is it possible if you email me one copy of your old payslip as an exapmle please?

Sorry I'm asking so many question....

Hi LIC Ont,

Every pay day my employer gives me my slip.  Its a generic pay slip he bought from I think Office Depot.  Follow the link below.  The one from PDOC is his copy.  It has the Earnings (hours worked x rate), Deductions (Income tax, CPP, EI, Others w/c is the $325)

http://www.officedepot.ca/Payroll-Forms/Blueline-A1000-Payroll-Statement-Book-A1000.asp

When I'm about to submit my apps, I accumulated all payslips and then entered them to Excel to make my Statement of Earnings and Deductions.  I also made copies of these slips.  Attached them to the printed Excel and included them to my OWP/PR apps.

Ahhh!!! I think I got it!

I just made it, could you please take a look?   It that what you mean?  Did your Statement look like this?  If yes, what else should I include in it?  Any advice?

I can't upload a picture here for some reasons, but I attached a link to it.

What do you think about it?

Hi Wsongco,

Sorry, I have no idea.  I guess it will depend on the IO that will process her apps in the future.  Smiley
