Hi All,

Anyone is/was enrolled in program with Devry institute of technology in Calgary?

I read several negative reviews of Devy USA, however, Devry institute of technology in Calgary seems to be recognized in Canada by all relevant bodies, the oly issue for me is that its expensive, so before I invest in it I would like to get some thoughts.

I thought it would be a good idea to get some formal Canadian education while my application is being processes so by the time I am there I would have a Canadian education degree to help me secure a job Cheesy.

Pls guys help with any info on this university.

I took some MBA classes in DeVry USA. It is a private for-profit university. It is not a good institution at all, DeVry Canada is even worse. Although i got all 'As' but i quit the university and transfered to Public university. Most probably, the VISA will be denied, beause DeVry is not in the good books of canadian immigration

Althought its recognized? interesting!

FYI, i was not planning to use devry's for my application, as i have qualfications up to an MBA. I was planning to use it later in canada for better job prospect, as it turns out that working experince and qalfiications outside canada wont take you far.

For someone migrating via FSW program, and looking for an online/distance canadian qualfiication for the pruposes of finding a job in Canada later, which university/college do you recommened? in the area of Engineering /Technology

Foreign MBAs are better than US and Canadian MBA (unless it's from top business schools), I don't see any reason to get another Master degree from Canada just to get better job, and I think you have some kind of misunderstanding. Distance learning from deVry is like taking classes in 3rd class university in some developing country.

Rest is up to you.

Best of luck.

There is native attitude among Canadian employers toward degrees from institutions such as DeVry.  You would be better to attend a public college or university to obtain a Canadian qualification.

If Devry is  recognized and approved by Canadian Govt.,  according to OP6 points will be awarded for immigration purposes.  It may not be a good choice for a job prospect,  but for immigration purposes and according to OP6 rules points will be awarded.
