Designation prob for 0213

Dear sr members,

I working under noc 0213 almost from 3 yrs.from the last 4 months i promoted to sr. Engr.
In app to CIO i have written sr. Engr in my current compay,

My question is when i fill final app to CHC,,,is it creat any prob with my designation,,,as u know 0213 has decision making type duties.

They mentioned in the checklist that we need to provide each postion n time spent. If i show them i m sr engr for last 6 months,,,do u think i wll be rejected,,

As far as I understand designation does not matter. But you need to ensure that reference letter you get has most of the job duties for 0213. You should have been performing these for at least one year.

As per ur post,,if i mention that i work under noc 0213 as an engineer for 2.5 yrs n 6 months as a sr. Engr in the same noc....it would nt create any problem.

I told this question bcause designation engr. sometimes cannt perform decision related job where as a sr. Engr can do.

Pls clearfy the situation.

Hi,

If you can provide the detailed experience letter which details the duties and responsibilities that you've been performing/performed inthe mentioned period, it shouldn't be a problem.

They will not go by the designation alone. The duties and responsibilities also should match.

There have been instances where ppl got rejected even though the designation matched, but failed to to describe their roles and responsibilities properly.

So it is now more clear that,, i will provide ref letter which shows 2.5 yrs as engr n 6 months as sr. Engr. But i need to put all duties respective to my noc0213

My friend, please study the followings and see if you could highlight almost 90% of the duties in your current position supported by a verifiable job letter on your company's letter head,, there will be no prob..


Main duties NOC 0213 Computer and Information Systems Managers

Computer and information systems managers perform some or all of the following duties:
•Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing (EDP) departments and companies
•Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development
•Meet with clients to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines
•Assemble and manage teams of information systems personnel to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks and information systems
•Control the budget and expenditures of the department, company or project
•Recruit and supervise computer analysts, engineers, programmers, technicians and other personnel and oversee their professional development and training.

main things is you should have more than 1 year experience in the duties mentioned under 0213. then only you can claim 0213 as your NOC.

This for your kind information that I was facing problem myself regarding this issue. I have also applied in ur catagory. I am engaged in my current company for more than four years. In my reference letter I have just mentioned them i am working for more than four years as Department Head (current position). Now i have got Medical and RPRF request. So the designation is not a factor. The main factor is the Duties and responsibilities. Try to mention the duties according to the NOC 0213. Dont worry about this. No need to mention individually each position....

Be careful not to copy main duties from NOC verbatim.
As it is considered as self-serving.
Make sure to rephrase them!

You see that these duties are generic managerial level duties for Computer and Information Systems profession 0213.These duties are performed both for softwate development and softwate quality assurance.

My specialization in Computer and Information Systems profession is in quality assurance field. I have ten years experience in software quality assurance field. And out of these ten years, four years experience is of managerial level. I am currently working as Software/Information systems quality assurance analyst/manager.

Exact NOC code for Information systems quality assurance analysts is 2171.This code (2171) is listed in “Classified elsewhere” section on description page of NOC code 0213.

I do almost all duties described as main duties for NOC code 0213 in the quality assurance field of Computer and Information Systems.

I assume that I fall in 0213 professional duties. Please comments on if my understanding is correct?

if I am not wrong then I need your expert opinion on what NOC code should I mention in initial application? Whether it should be 0213 0r 2171?

No. I sent only the notarized copy of the transcript. For your kind information except PCC i sent all the documents (even IELTS) as a notarized copy. I have seen in this forum, who have sent main copy, got it back later stage.
