with regards
hello dr.sukhleen,
CIO's "Total application.." has been updated & as on 19th april 2011, total application received under NOC 3113-Dentist is 826.
CIO is currently getting 4-5 applications under NOC 3113 & if this rate continues then our NOC-3113 will reach it's cap limit within 1st week of June.
As per my understanding, you will get your IELTS result on 20th may, so if you can send your application package(use express courier service) to CIO on 21st may & it reaches there within 26th May then you might make within the cap.

Alternative option as Dental hygienist/therapist:
As you r a dentist you are qualified to apply as dental hygienist/therapist. if you want to apply as dental hygienist/therapist then your duties must match with the duties stated in NOC website:
Main duties:
Dental hygienists perform some or all of the following duties:
•Conduct an initial dental assessment and consult with dentists on patient care
•Take dental impressions
•Instruct patients regarding oral hygiene procedures
•Clean and stimulate the gums to prevent gum disease
•Remove stains and deposits from teeth to prevent tooth and root decay
•Apply fluoride treatment
•Take and develop X-rays
•May perform restorative and orthodontic procedures under the direction of a dentist
•May supervise dental assistants in their health care functions.

Dental therapists perform some or all of the following duties:
•Conduct dental assessments and consult with dentist on patient care
•Take dental impressions
•Take and develop X-rays
•Remove stains and deposits from teeth to prevent tooth and root decay
•Apply fluoride treatment
•Instruct patients regarding oral hygiene procedures
•Supervise dental assistants in their health care functions
•May drill and fill cavities, extract teeth and replace portions of tooth crown.
source: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/Profile.aspx?val=3&val1=3222

Complication you might face if you apply as Dental hygienist/therapist:

Since you are a Dentist, CIO might not satisfy if you claim your position is “Dental therapist/hygienist” instead of “Dentist”
These might delay your processing & require you to undergo “Interview”

It's solution:
You should apply under 2 NOC: 3113 & 3222
You can claim that you actual position is “Dentist” but you also perform all the duties of either Dental hygienist or Dental therapist.

So my brother and his wife are trained dentists from India and currently have their own dental clinic in India
They want to immigrate to Canada. I ( sister) have already applied for AINP( Alberta immigration) and will become a
permanent resident in the next couple of months. which way/program is the best way for my brother to apply? AINP or FSW and what does he need to do to apply? he is thinking of applying by himself and does not want to hire a lawfirm. Is it advisable? Is the cap for this year 2011 already reached?

He can apply for FSW1 category. pass mark for FSW category is 67. He must have atleast 1 year continuous paid work experience, IELTS (General training only). Cap for dentist hasnt reached to it;s limit yet. As on 19 april total number of applications under NOC-3113,Dentist is 826.
source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

it is projected that, NOC-3113 will reach it's cap limit within 30-40 days.
so he must apply before last week of May,2011 in order to make within the cap.

How to apply: (he can apply by himself, no need to appoint an agent)
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp

What docs are required:
Docs of both checklists are required
