Dear Sir/Madam
I live in Iran and I have applied for federal Skilled worker as I am oil driller supervisor. I have recieved a letter from Damascus visa office in 25/6/2009.
It is mentioned that they will answer me in at last 12 monthes, but after 12 monthes that I have emailed to know the reason of the delay, they answer me that it is a queue of applications and my application has not still processed.
I want to know if you have any information in this matter.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards.

Good day ardalan

I dont specifically know about Damscus vis office, but most visa offices are having a lot of backlog files still waiting to get processed. So you may need to be waiting some more time for a medical request. Check the following link to understand more about your visa office processing time. These are just projections based on the previous visa processing datas. In most cased they take much more than this timing listed on the website.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/skilled-fed.asp

As you received your document submission letter in June 25, 2009 it seems to me very long period for a medical request. This is a bit unusual, but visa offices are not fair always picking up the right applicant from the queue.

I hope you will get some good info soon on your application.

Good luck, Sans_May2010

Dear Sir
thanks a lot for your reply.
I have checked this site many time. It is mentioned that it takes only 9 monthes for Damascus visa office, but when I send email for this visa for second time to know about the reason of the delay they answer me like this I queted it "Please be advised that the status of the application has not changed since our last reply to you on July20,2010.Please understand that our office cannot provide you with a case status update on a regular basis, but rest assured that we will contact you when necessary. Therefore,no further questions will be answered unless the status of the application has change"

Yea, Its quite disappointing ardalan, but we have no choice. All guys who applied prior June 26, 2010 are delayed because of the huge number of backlog.

You know we are also waiting to see the new ministerial instructions expected to be coming soom sometimes in June or July 2011. I strongly think that Drilling Supervisors will be very much on the list. So you can once more try your luck applying again. The recent trend shows that the latest ministerial instructions make faster visa processing.

I am sure Canada very much needed more drilling guys for their operations in western canada or even working international for Canadian companies.

All the best and see you in canada.

It is a good chance to apply for it, I always say, If you really want to immigrate, try for each way if you can!

Hi

Yesterday I call to one consultant and discuss on previous (Backlog 2005-6) Pakistani cases. We discuss different issue like Canadian High Commission London future plan and in future face problem previous applicant.
Currently they said we are receiving 2009 applicant document update letter from CHC London and previous cases (Backlog applicant) still constant.
Different applicants and Consultant have different opinion some says backlog policy change in next fiscal year 2011-2012 and some says near near no chance changing of policy.
I think any early  2005 applicant apply for CAIPS notes for idea ,are CHC London work start previous cases. I apply March 2010 for CAIPS notes they only award age number and remaining under process.

Recent change of status to IN PROCESS is a positive sign.
it means your Visa office has started to move a bit.
everyone is now waiting for the announcement in June/July.
