Degree assessment requirement for Alberta nominee

I have received nomination from Alberta, and now have to apply to CIC for next step.
My question is about degree assessment requirement when applying. I am a Mechanical Engineer, and I have Masters degree from the USA. Do I still have to assess my degree from Canada's Engineering Council?

Please help me determining if I need to get my degree assessed before applying to CIC.

Your degree assessment or the degree itself has no relation to CIC application.  BTW, I too have Mechanical masters from USA, medicals are done and waiting for PPR.
