I got visa in December 2011 but I had a motorbike accident and I had to defer course until September 2012. I requested my college to send me a deferral letter, I think its in process. So tell me what I have to do? Do I have to apply for a fresh visa or send my passport to CHC Delhi for changes to visa dates or simply fly to Canada with a deferral letter. I look forward to your reply.

Cheers

Hope your health is getting better.

I suggest to carry the deferral letter (LOA) and the discharge summary or related docs from the Doctor in addition to the other docs listed on the CIC website. Since you already have a valid visa, it is not required to request for a new - once in the country, if your course prelongs the date stamped on the passport it can be send for extension.

Will leave it to members who experienced a similar situation to comment/correct my post.

Al the best !

Hi,

1. So far you have received an "approval letter" from the CHC Delhi. This letter is not your study permit. This is a letter of introduction. Your actual study permit will be issued at the port of entry, Canada.
2. All you need; Letter of Deferral, Letter of Introduction, a TRV (If your TRV is a single entry and currently expired, your need to apply again for a TRV) and medical papers/proof.
