Can you defer your course for health reasons from Jan intake to September intake, do you need visa again? Will the college allow you to do that? Will they take 1st semester fee? Help friends

Yes you can defer your courses for that duration of time but pls go through the college detailing reasons why to put the college in your situation and to make it official-they can always defend you incase

Provided the visa is still valid, you dont have to apply for another one and once in college you can apply to extend for that duration you missed and international students department are so good in this. For now you can still use the one you have provided still valid.

Why take semester fees and you are not attending classes, for what? You dont have to pay semester fees but pay enrolment deposit which shall be acredited towards your fees-this also helps to secure your spot when you finally get to attend the college

Hope this helps

Hi,

Most likely you shall get a call from CHC, asking reasons for not entering Canada, as the same happened with one of our member.

Still, you need to take care of TRV validity + letter of deferral.

Thanks habil and enfield for you quick replies. One more question for you both, Does the college keep the fees or refund 1st semester fees?

In the event  that you have paid the fees and not attended the semester and you dont need a refund too.Inform the student advisor of your situation and absence and tell him/her that you shall use the fees when you get to the college. It will never be used.Remember also flactuation of the currencies.

Let  them know this as ealier as possible so that they dont register you for the semester classes,

Enfield can shed more light on this...................................

Hi,

GENERALLY, you get almost full refund on the production of a visa refusal letter. Still, contact school/checkout school's website to see any specific refund policy. Normally, there is a deadline for refund (except in case of visa refusal).
