"Decision made" on "Eligibility to Sponsor" question

Hello all

I finally have some good news after having posted so many questions on this forum. This is like one big family of people and I want to share my mini victory while asking another question...lol!

I have just checked E-Cas and seen that my application was indeed received on March 1,2011.This was after I was very worried that my package was lost or something.

I have another question then...

On the Client Application Status page under Sponsorship Application Status it says "Decision Made" which is also a link.

When I click on that link it then says...

"We received your application to sponsor SHAMIL LAGERDIEN on March 1, 2011.
We started processing your application on March 25, 2011.
We sent you a letter on April 15, 2011 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us."

Also under Permanent Residence Application Status on the Client Application Status page it says "Application Received" and at that page it says "We received SHAMIL LAGERDIEN's application for permanent residence on April 27, 2011."

Is it safe to assume that the application to sponsor was successful? I mean would they process my application for Permanent Residence if the sponsorship was unsuccessful? That seems counter intuitive to me but I know you can never be sure with these things?

I don't want to get too excited ahead of schedule you know lol

What has your guys' experience been with this?

Hello Shamil,

Don't worry.  It means you were approved as a sponsor.  I had the same messages.  Your papers for permanent residence were received at the visa office.

It depends what option you selected on the application.

If you instructed them to keep processing the application even if the sponsor is denied - then yes, they would continue processing the application even if you were denied as a sponsor.

However unless there was something in your sponsor application that might prevent you from sponsoring - I'm sure it's an approval.
