Guys, I have few doubts.

1. CIC website has nowhere mentioned any particular qualification is mandatory for a particular field else the application will be rejected. So why should they reject any application on the basis of qualification mis-match with NOC.

2. Work experience is big thing. People who have proved their experience of 1 year in the particular NOC have migrated to Canada even though they were not working presently under that NOC. So I think work experience in that particular field for 1 year matters most provided you have the JOB duties as described by CIC.

I am much concerned now since I do not have a Engineering Degree/Diploma. I am a simple Graduate with Certifications from Cisco but I have strong total working expeience of 15 + years & relative NOC working experience of above 5 years as a Data Center Manager in a reputed company.

My Consultant Company says that when a person is having huge work experience in the particular NOC, Education in that particular field hardly matters. Although I doubt their statement especially after Mr. Rajababu popped up into this forum.

Please clarify.
Dear friend,
I understand that you have a genuine query, but if you have a careful look at the NOC
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/Welcome.aspx
There is a section named "Employment requirements" under each NOC code which relates to a person's qualifications and degrees/diplomas thus earned !!
I am not writing to discourage u or to dishearten u, but just imagine, why does CIC have points for education Max 25 points?, why does CIC mention NOC coded occupations as eligible under FSW?, why does CIC ask for certified/notarised copies of educational documents and transcripts?
There is a reason for everything and I guess CIC works according to the set framed guidelines on this matter...Only senior members would be able to throw some light on whether this holds true or not (that a person should have same qualifications earned during his course of study as his NOC under which he/she applies for immigration)
Even my cousin needs to apply for immigration under 4152 (social worker) but he is a commerce graduate and has post graduate diploma in Business Management + M.Phil also, but he is clueless that his social work experience alone would help him to immigrate or not?
Regards,

You are right Juner, education was the only matter of concern for me even when i applied & later also.

I always had this in mind that my points may get deducted or there can be rejection due to my education.

The link you pasted is for getting a job in Canada but have they specified anywhere that for a particular NOC some basic qualification is mandatory ?

Work experience minimum requirements

If your application is eligible for processing it will then be assessed against minimum requirements.

Your work experience must be:

for at least one year, continuous, and paid (full-time or the equivalent in part-time), AND
S]kill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC) list, AND
within the last 10 years.[/font]
If you meet the above minimum requirements, your application will be processed according to the six selection factors in the skilled worker points grid, which are:

your education
your abilities in English and/or French, Canada's two official languages
your work experience
your age
whether you have arranged employment in Canada, and
your adaptability.

Skill Type

Skill Type is based on the type of work performed, but it also reflects the field of training or experience that is normally required for entry into the occupation. This includes the educational area of study required, as well as the industry of employment in cases where experience within an internal job ladder is required for entry. These categories are intended to indicate easily understood segments of the world of work.

 @ everybody.

buddies, u wud be surprised to know few facts.

1. one of my employee who was MSC MATHS recently got immigrated to canada.
2. A doctor who showed Computer education and immigrated to canada later became CSIC member as well.
3. I have plenty more references to give.

so moral of the story is there is no relevance of your academic education. if you are showing that you have
worked as Com. Instructor then PGDCA/PGDIT is sufficient.
