Hello, I was wondering if someone can tell me from experience.... Thursday the 21stth of April my ecas changed from "Permanent residence :Application recieved" to "Permanent Residence: Decision made", it also says
We received your application for permanent residence on January 24, 2011. We started processing your application on April 18, 2011. Medical results have been received. A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.
My question is, how long generally would my wife have to wait for the office to contact her? and does this mean that they stamped the visa on her passport for sure??? someone please let me know, I am very excited and happy about the change on ecas, but I want to know generally how long it will take for the next step, I am going down in may to see my wife after 11 months and it would be so cool if she came with me to Canada instead of her landing alone if ya kno what I mean! thanks guys!
Gary

Congrats Gary... Like my friend Charlie, I am unaware of the process of that office but if it is like the Kingston office its a matter of days til she gets her passport back with her visa... WOW that is an amazing feeling... my husband just received his passport with visa back it's wonderful to know that the process is all over... Have fun on your trip and I hope that you can bring your wife back with you... Keep us updated!!!

Hello Gary, Usually takes from 2 to 10 weeks in every case is different I can see yours was pretty stright forward so probably could be there soon, I want to ask you something so your status in ECAS was application received and then changed to desicion made? without being in process just curious about that good luck and congrats

Mine took 4 weeks from the change on eCas. It seems they issued the needed documents 3 weeks after making the decision, then took 10 days to send us the passports next day delivery.
This was Beijing.
good luck

Hey gary congrats on your Decision Made. I am having a similar problem when I check my status on Ecas it says application recieved but then they sent me an email/ letter stating that they wanted my husband to send his passport, police certificate, and the permenant resident fee so I do not actually know if my application has been processing all this time ( since october 18,2010) so maybe all be lucky like you and boom decision made.
A friend of mine got decision made like 2 weeks ago and then like a couple days later they contacted him to go to the embassy of costa rica on a certain day and time to go pick up his decision made, he went and their he got approval with his passport and visa stamped, so you will have to wait and see, remember every case is different GOOD LUCK
