Hi
Thanks for the info. I have filed my immigration through a lawyer so i am not communicated at all. I was just send the medical form from him. I dont know if my company will apply for a LMO. Its a big MNC and i know they dont like doing all this. Can i apply under visitor visa and stay here till its being processed. I have seen a lot of people on the forum getting their PR after 2-3 months of medical. Hope we are lucky in our case.
Thanks
Changing your status to visitor is not going to adversely affect your PR application so don't worry. If your employer doesn't give you a LMO, another way to buy a few extra weeks after the expiry of your current WP, is to apply for an extension a week or do before it expires, via regular mail. As long as your application is received by Vengreville case processing before the date your WP expires, you are on implied Tagus as a worker, and you can continue to work until you receive a decision, at which point you can apply for a restoration of status and a visitor. The upside this way, is that you're able to buy a few weeks extra on a legal work status, hoping your PR goes through. The flip side is the cost, youd have to initially pay the 150 I think for a WP renewal. Once it gets rejected, you would have to pay 200 for restoration of status, and an additional 75 for visitor.

If you find the answer to that then let me know.. Haha.. I don't think anyone knows, there can be so many variables. I know some early Novembers are getting PPR's nowadays.. Take from that what you will. I was initially quite optimistic about myself, it was in Ottawa, gOT MR and AOR together in April. But now they require a PCC which is a little annoying, but hopefully they have started the other checks whilst I submit my PC

I am a Nov 2011 applicant, no AOR yet. However, I saw ppl getting AOR after about 3 months. So hopefully we'll see something soon.
i'm a February 2011 applicant. Buffalo apparently sent me an AOR in July but never recieved anything until i found out thatthey had made a mistake of my e-mail address. I received mine in september. hopefully you ll received yours soon. good luck

Do you need to redo PC if you have submitted the original from your home country and the RCMP. I did submit them with my application.

No, I checked with CIC before submitting my application if whether or not I needed a PC becoz since turning 18, I was only in a country for 5 months consecutively, so I didn't submit it. Then now they requested it on Tuesday, I double checked if they didn't miscalculate the duration, and they reconfirmed they need it. Oh well, I'm hoping to submit it by the end of next week.

hi, i am sonia, i am international student in Toronto canada. i did MBA from back home and have one year work experience. now i am doing 2 year diploma from humber college which will finsih in 2 months. i am confuse about PR. Either i need to apply as Canada experience class or on point base. i am confuse about ontraio laws too. please give me some suggestion about PR as my studies are going to finish very soon and i will get graduate work permit.
Hi Sonia, As far as I know you cannot apply for a PR while you are an international student. Even though you have one year experience, I don't think you are still eligible to apply for a PR under canadian experience class or under skilled worker catergory. I was an international student once and I had to work for a year here in canada and collect 1975 hours before i could apply for PR under canadian experience class. and for skilled worker you need 2 years of experience. I would suggest you to finish your diploma and then find work from your field of study and find a job (preferably full time) and then apply for your PR then, once you have all the necessary documentation to support. Hope this helps.

Hi lilyluvx, I think our timelines are pretty close. Even my medicals were received by Ottawa office last week. Would you please provide an update once you hear anything back from CIC. Thank you.

my online status changed to "medicals received" last night. Does any one know how long it takes to receive PPR from this point? btw: buffalo office is closing, are we still expecting PPR from Buffalo or from Ottawa?
