I guess when you indicated your email address on your application form, CIC's main correspondence with you is your email. I didn't get a hard copy of the sponsorship approval. It was emailed to me. But I did get my hubby's passport back and a letter stating that they don't need the original passport this time but they made copies of it so it was being returned to me for safe keeping. I mailed the original, instead of just copies. Lol! But good thing, it didn't cause delay. I guess I'd be looking forward to all my emails. I even added my hubby's email on my mobile. Coz he rarely checks his emails. Lol!

i have some questions guys....application received december 22, fees paid online in full...apart from canada post indicating parcel being delivered succesfully, how do you tell if cic-m received your application? also i am not able to assess the status of my file online using the receipt number...please, people waiting on approvals are you able to assess your status using your receipt number? and someone mentioned receiving approval email  @  7am when email was sent at 4am...does that mean CIC-M work 24hrs?

Hi myboo.

You will only gain access on e-cas when CIC started processing your application. Wait for the sponsorship approval or acknowledgement of receipt Most of the time they don't issue acknowledgement of receipt as soon as they get your application. They issue an AOR when a decision has been made after sponsorship evaluation.

In my case, my sponsorship approval came first before the AOR. When I got the approval, that's the only time I started gaining access on e-cas.

Just wait for your approval and eventually, you'd be able to log on online.

tried using receipt number but cant get in , i have read that in November forum, i guess no one was able to. Wait for your approval or if you receive the AOR first before the approval then you can get access with the UCI # indicated on the AOR

I hope cic really works 24 hours LOL

Now we have to wait to see how long the actual visa offices are taking. I checked Mexico and they updated it from 14 months to 13 months! But, hopefully, it will be way soon than that.

I 'm really happy with the new time frame of around 56 days, and very happy for Decemberians who got their approvals lately,  hopefully this way we would get ours around the end of feb, early march .

Yes Nessa, we are neck and neck!! Is your spouse/partner currently living in Mexico? My hubby is actually living in the U.S. (undocumented). So if they call him for an interview, he will have to go to D.F. If they don't call him for an interview we don't know if he can just come straight to Canada or if he would still have to go to Mexico first.
