Dear forum members, help, thx
Me and my wife are reading your forum for some time now and we have some questions that we think you can help us with. Our application was turned in on 24 October and I had an interview on january 16, here in Belgrade/ When should we expect to get an answer if I got the Visa or not. I am in Serbia, Belgrade, she is in Canada.
APP SENT 19.OCT 2008 APP RECO 23.OCT 2008 SPONS. APPROVED 19.NOV 2008 SENT TO VIENNA 20.NOV 2008 VIENNA REQUEST FOR INTERV. AND ADDL DOCUM. 28.DEC 2008 INTERV. AND ADDL DOCUM. IN BELGRADE, SERBIA 16.JAN 2009 We know that we are not waiting to long after the interview which was on Jan. 16, but we are afraid that we might wait to long.
Any members with interviw experiences? Is that good to have an interview or not? We heard that we could order CAIPS. Never know about that before...
Did you have an interview? What is your experience about that?
NOW WE WAIT ..
THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS
some sugggestion plz.

At the same time we have and our lawyer has given us information that should not have pay earlier until you get the official response to our subject. Please provide us with your comment, what to do in this case.

You mean the Right of Permanent Resident Fee (landing fee) $490 Can. You must pay this before CHC will issue the visa, the processing office should send a letter stating the applicant must submit their passport and the "Landing" fee before the COPR (visa) will be issued. This is called the passport request letter. Your sponsor can pay the fee on-line in Canada, and send a copy of the receipt to Vienna. PMM

Landing fee? Excuse me, but did I miss something? I paid about $1300 to sponsor my wife and her 7 year old daughter from Colombia. I thought it covered the applications and fees for PR. Now is there another "landing fee" of almost $500? I hope immigracion is not about "head taxes" I already realize it is almost imposible for many people from many countries to even visit Canada unless they are very wealthy....just surprized if I have to come up with another "landing" charge.

Let me guess for your application, you paid, $550 for your spouse, $150 for her daughter and $490 for the wife's Right of PR Fee, total $1190. The OP didn't pay the RPRF upfront, so the CIC was requesting it now. PMM

TY PMM, I was hoping that was the situation. I know a person can pay extra for sponsorship at the beginning of the process, or wait till later, and probably wait a few extra months. I thought it said something about a fee for a PR card, I wasn't sure that was called a "landing fee"..thanx for the clarification

We have received PR request to pay $490 on Feb.26, but didn't received letter of passport request which should go with PR payment or shouldn't? We did pay fee on March 3. and now waiting again. Anybody knows more about this? Why they asked just to pay fee, but didn't send letter yet requesting passport? Is this different from office to office? We are going thorough Vienna. Anybody knows more about this?

1. Pay the fee, don't send the passports until requested. PMM

Please let me answer. The question is very simple, when the officer after reviewing the documents, ask for payment for the lending fee, does it mean that it brought the final decision on the case or not.
THANKS TO ANSWER

Guess what! We were waiting for passport request, but instead they ask my husband to submit additional documents about his bussiness trip back in 2004. Why would they ask first to pay landing fee, but one month later ask for more documents? We are scared, because he didn't save tickets or old passport. But he can provide a letter about trip. Could be that enough proof? Fee request came from Vienna office, but this letter from Belgrade cosulat where he had interview, so confussing...
PMM please answer, or any body who knows what does this news mean?
