If you can outline your strengths and the types of jobs you and your wife would like to find it would make it easier for others to help you.  Don't be disheartened.  This should be a time of year to at least be able to get some work doing the Christmas workload.  Places like Purdies (the BEST chocolate in the lower mainland) who take on many temporary employees right now....am sure there are many others.  Good Luck.

Most McDonalds are hiring right now, as well as Tim Hortons, A & W and Wendys. Restaurants are hiring for the Xmas season, they need waiters (only if you speak good English) and dish washers (which no level of English is needed).

Lots of jobs around right now, also, if you do speak good English, then most of the larger stores are looking for Xmas staff.

Look around your local mall and see the staff wanted signs around. I am sure you and your wife will be able to find something quickly.

Good Luck.
