   Dear Mr Cohen,
I have a three year visitor visa expiring in January 2004 and have already visited canada for about a week on business. I have filed for PR last week with the CHC in New Delhi. My querry is:
a) Can I come over to Canada with my existing B1 visa now that my PR has been filed.
b) If yes, can I on arrival in Canada, change my status within Canada and ask for Work Permit?
c) Thirdly, with my visitor visa can i do some consulting work . Is it permissable or should i take a work permit?

   You may seek admission to Canada as a visitor on the basis of your B1 visa while your PR application is pending. Although you may apply for an employment authorization while in Canada at such time, it may be necessary to submit such to an office outside of Canada.

From the information that you have provided, it does not appear that you are eligible to perform any consulting work to Canadian companies or employers other, possibly, than your own.
