Neil,Although I have not seen a copy of your Employment Authorization, I am almost certain that it stipulates the name of the employer for whom you may work in Canada, as well as the type of employment for which you have been approved. Employment Authorizations are, by their nature, job- and employer-specific. As a result, your Employment Authorization only permits you to work for the employer whose name is specified on the document.
If you wish to work for a different Canadian employer and you have not yet begun to work for the employer whose name is specified on the document, then you will first have to apply for a NEW Employment Authorization. If, on the other hand, you commence working in Canada for the employer whose name is specified on the document and THEN decide to change employers, you will be required to AMEND your Employment Authorization before commencing your new job. This application to amend an Employment Authorization may be submitted to a Case Processing Centre located within Canada.
Yours truly,
Seth Dalfen
