The E08 states that the provisions are available to students of private institutions which are authorized by provincial statute to confer degrees, and further goes on to state that whether the student received a diploma, degree or certificate is not an issue. This is a bit ambiguous. Furthermore, in the province of Ontario, as most provinces Private Colleges are not authorized to confer degrees, only diplomas, so nor would this make sense.

Simply put, does a diploma from a private college IE (DeVry, CDI, etc.) qualify.

A diploma or a degree from a private institution, as a general rule, is considered eligible for the E08 exemption. If your specific diploma is considered eligible would require the examination of the documentation pertaining to the case.
