"Married to a Canadian"

   Dear Sir,
I just recently came to Canada and got married. Both me and my wife are recent graduates of UK University. We would both would like to settle in Canada. She is a Canadian citizen and I am from Cyprus. What should I do? Should I apply for an Employment Authorisation or for Immigration VISA? My wife cannot sponsor because she is not working yet. And when my visitor VISA ends would I be allowed to stay in Canada by extending my VISA...
I seriously dont know which procedure to follow
Thanking you in advance
Pambos

You should apply for sponsorship now. In cases of spousal sponsorship, it is generally possible to overlook financial requirements as long as the sponsor is not on social assistance. If such an application is processed inland, you would shortly become eligible for open employment authorization.
